congrats, you managed to turn the worst game I've ever played, into a slightly less terrible game. As in it actually controls better than drake of the 99 dragons.
From the screens it looks super cool, you fixed up the graphics (very badly done in Ms Paint in the original Japanese version) of the rooms but you didn't change the graphic style, so that the feeling of unease and the charm that the original version conveyed remains.
I don't think that this project will get that much attention though, it's also worth mentioning that the original Demonophobia was a niche game with probably 100,000 downloads done in all of these 15 years since the first launch.
You never know, deep respect for you all 3 anons who dedicate time for a passion project haha :P
Btw if you lose the desire to continue this remake, will the demo still be available to download?

We are also going to make sure this remake is polished well enough, even if only a niche audience is going to try it
I suppose it wouldnt hurt to allow people to download this and any other future demo builds in case the project gets cancelled, so dont worry about it

Idk man i bet my fellow bros from 4chan and other imageboards would like/love this remake in some way or another.
I suggest you make some threads on some AltChans maybe some anon will be interested in, who knows.
BTW the original Demonophobia was initially sponsored on 2chan and from there it circulated the internet
